Sigh... this season is... rough. Very rough. Although my interest in COD has significantly waned, I'm never one to say too many negatives over BO7; the decisions before Season 5 were a net positive; maps were better, the "Open Matchmaking system" was a very good idea, much better than 2019's infamous SBMM system, and "Open SBMM" could have been better had there been a larger player base, and things felt very fluid. I feel they have lost the plot again this time around. The Open Matchmaking system used from the Beta to Season 4 was the selling point for me to continue playing COD alongside Battlefield 6 rather than jumping ship and solely focusing on the latter game, but after Season 5, I am not sure if I am going to pre-order MW4. The new matchmaking system, which I will refer to as Neo-SBMM, feels just as bad as the 2019 era that introduced the infamous SBMM. And in addition, power creep is setting root in the new weapons. It was alarming with the AN-94 pre-nerf, but it's especially becoming an issue with this AR, the Mammoth, and the Garand conversion for the M34. At times, it feels like MW2019/2022's TTK, and that discrepancy is significant. The majority of the games are from the playlists still using the "Open Matchmaking" algorithm and will be the case for future BO7 videos, which I will very likely dial back in favor of Battlefield 6, Delta Force, and maybe another shooter here or there. 0:00 Firing Range - Gauntlet Rush 8:00 FG42 Build 8:05 Frequency - Domination (Open Matchmaking) 17:37 Nuketown 2025 - Domination (Open Matchmaking - yes, Nuketown 24/7 is more chill than the neo-SBMM algorithm. Let. That. Sink. In.) 27:27 Torment - Domination (Neo-SBMM) 37:02 Torque - Gauntlet Rush (curbstomp) #callofduty #bo7 #blackops7 #gaming
