Kohli Answers LAST World Cup Call With 139! India’s 2027 Plan Begins

Virat Kohli has confirmed that the 2027 ODI World Cup will be his final World Cup for India, and he followed that announcement with a stunning unbeaten 139 from 88 balls against West Indies in the 1st ODI at Thiruvananthapuram. Kohli hit 10 fours and a career-high nine sixes in an ODI innings, completed his 55th ODI century and crossed 15,000 ODI runs, becoming only the second batter after Sachin Tendulkar to reach the landmark and the fastest to do so. Cricbuzz Captain Shubman Gill also scored 110 as India chased 296 with ease, reaching 300/2 in 41.4 overs to win by eight wickets. Gill and Kohli added 151 for the second wicket as West Indies struggled to contain India’s top order. Cricbuzz With Kohli now focused exclusively on ODI cricket at international level and openly targeting one final World Cup title in 2027, this innings raises the bigger question: is Virat Kohli still the player India should build their World Cup batting around?
