County Partners with Veterans Museum for Day of Service Initiative

The Franklin County Board of Commissioners approved a $90,000 partnership with the National Veterans Memorial and Museum to support its Service in Action Initiative, which aims to address poverty and strengthen communities across Franklin County. The initiative includes service projects tied to 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance in September 2026 and Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service in January 2027. Projects will focus on addressing basic needs, food insecurity, supporting veterans and first responders, serving seniors and families, and engaging youth in community improvement.
