Snakehead Fishing in Maryland

Have you ever wondered what it's like to go fishing for the illusive Snakehead fish?... well here is an opportunity to come out on the old Carolina Skiff with me and my kids and see what it’s all about! Invasive Northern Snakehead have been invading every corner of the Chesapeake Bay for over 20 years. I caught my first one in the upper bay back in 2020 and every year since we have been seeing more and more in our area despite the attempts to eradicate them, even with the popular method of night-time bow fishing. Every spring there is a sweet spot right before the spawn where the water heats up and the Snakehead seem to get extra hungry... it always seems to be prime right around mid-may. This fine mother’s day in 2025, my wife told me she just wanted a quiet day at the house to relax so I took the kids to church with my mom then out on the boat to see if we could get a few bites. Well it happened to turn out to be one of my best days out fishing that spring and by far the best Mother's Day I've ever had! How many fish did we land? You will just have to watch to find out!!!
