Gregorian Chant of Psalm 91 | Powerful Night Prayer for Spiritual Protection & Peaceful Sleep

PSALM 91 (PSALM 90) — A POWERFUL NIGHT PRAYER FOR SPIRITUAL PROTECTION & PEACEFUL SLEEP Rest beneath the shadow of the Almighty tonight. As darkness falls and the world grows quiet, surrender your fears, worries, and burdens to God through the sacred words of Psalm 91, also known as Psalm 90 in the traditional Catholic numbering of the Psalms. Known in Latin as Qui Habitat, Psalm 90 (91) has been prayed for centuries as a declaration of trust in God's protection against evil, spiritual warfare, fear, and the dangers of the night. Sung in the ancient tradition of Gregorian chant, this sacred psalm invites us to seek refuge in the Lord, entrust our homes and families to His care, and rest peacefully beneath His watchful presence. “He shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.” — Psalm 91:11 (Psalm 90:11) ✦ PSALM 91 / PSALM 90 — THE PRAYER OF DIVINE PROTECTION Psalm 91, traditionally numbered Psalm 90 in the Latin Vulgate and Catholic liturgical tradition, reminds us that those who place their trust in the Most High need not surrender their hearts to fear. It speaks of God's shelter, His faithfulness, His deliverance from evil, and the holy angels He commands to guard His people. Traditionally associated with Compline, the Church's final prayer of the day, Psalm 90 (91) is especially meaningful before sleep. Whether you are experiencing anxiety, seeking spiritual strength, praying for protection against spiritual attacks, or simply longing for peaceful rest, allow these ancient Latin words to draw your heart closer to God. Listen during: • Evening prayer and Compline • Quiet reflection before bedtime • Moments of fear, anxiety, or spiritual struggle • Prayer for protection over your home and family • Peaceful sleep and nighttime devotion ✦ A NIGHT PRAYER FOR SPIRITUAL PROTECTION Heavenly Father, As night falls, we seek refuge beneath the shadow of Your wings. Protect our homes, our families, and all those we hold dear. Guard us against evil, strengthen us against temptation, and deliver us from every spiritual danger. Send Your holy angels to watch over us as we sleep. Where there is fear, bring courage. Where there is anxiety, bring peace. Where there is darkness, let Your divine light shine. May no troubled thought disturb our rest, and may we awaken renewed in faith, hope, and gratitude. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. ✦ SHARE YOUR PRAYER INTENTIONS Who are you placing beneath God's protection tonight? We invite you to leave your prayer intentions in the comments.
