El Cielo Cozumel Mexico Snorkeling Tour with Kids ~ Palancar Reef, Columbia Reef, and Palancar Gardens What a special family day when we visited El Cielo in Cozumel with our kids. Join our full-time travel family as we leave Playa Del Carmen, Mexico to snorkel four different reefs and see starfish, manta rays, and sea turtles. We were all excited to take the ferry to Cozumel. Sitting in the shade on the 2nd deck, we had a relaxing ride to the island. And, once we got there we found a great coffee shop with organic coffee and delicious little desserts. They also let us try peanut butter coffee for the first time and it was AH-Mazing! Then, it was time to snorkel! Let me start by saying, "THE KIDS DID AWESOME!" The ocean was a bit rougher than we anticipated, but it did not stop our enjoyment of the snorkeling. Our kids are 6, 8, and 11 and we think this is a great age to try snorkeling if your kids like swimming and are not scared of the ocean. The guide pulled R. (age 6) in the life-ring which gave us a lot of peace of mind! Also, the kids having their own snorkeling equipment this time gave them more confidence and comfort. Make sure to get a dry top snorkel! (link below) We saw so many cool things! This way our kids 2nd time snorkeling and they definitely did better than the first time. (Their first experience was in Thailand and the water was much colder and not as clear at the time.) They all enjoyed chasing fish and riding in the boat.
