Professional 4K Time-Lapse With a Compact Camera?

Time-lapse photographers, and photographers in general, seem to be obsessed with gear. Cameras, lenses, tripods, filters, motion control systems, whatever. I did an experiment and tried to create a time-lapse video using only a compact camera and a mini tripod, costing no more than 700USD all together. The camera in this video is a Leica D-LUX (Typ 109). This is the exact same camera as the Panasonic LX100 (http://amzn.to/2cwExdb). The tripod is a Manfrotto PIXI Mini Table Top Tripod (http://amzn.to/2ciDZLI). No other equipment was used.
