Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar- "Kohala No"

The Kohala and Waimea areas of the Big Island of Hawaii are where ki hoʻalu or Hawaiian ʻslack keyʻ guitar began in the mid 1800ʻs. This original piece from my 2005 "Slack Key West" CD was inspired by my first visit to Kohala and the beautiful view from the Kohala Ridge out over the Pacific ocean. Played live in my studio in my "Mahoe" tuning on a Taylor 514CE guitar.
