Sometimes it's psychology.
Sometimes it's philosophy.
Sometimes it's self improvement.
Sometimes it's simply an idea worth exploring.
Interesting things, explained properly.

Why can a completely normal conversation leave you feeling mentally exhausted?
You may like the people you're talking to.
You may even enjoy the conversation.
But afterward, all you want is silence.
Is it because you're an introvert?
Not necessarily.
Psychology has another interesting concept called Sensory-Processing Sensitivity (SPS), a personality trait associated with how deeply people process environmental, social, and emotional information.
Research has linked higher sensory-processing sensitivity with overstimulation and exhaustion, although SPS is not the same thing as introversion. 1
So while you're talking to someone, your brain may be processing much more than just their words.
Their tone.
Their expressions.
The mood of the room.
What they meant.
What you should say next.
And sometimes, even how they're reacting to you.
That doesn't mean every socially exhausted person is highly sensitive.
But it does raise an interesting question:
Are you actually tired of people?
Or are you tired from constantly processing everything around them?
In this video, we explore the psychology behind social exhaustion, sensory-processing sensitivity, introversion, overstimulation, and why some conversations can feel much more mentally demanding than others.
This is JB Explains.
