Becoming a Computer Musician (VLOG_004): Dealing with Self-Doubt, My First Gig, Life's been INTENSE!

I realised I haven't actually uploaded anything since before the album was released back in early August so it was definitely time for an update.. As soon as Limerence came out, life decided I had other things to look after! One of my cat's (Waffles) got really sick and we had to take him to the emergency vet, my partner had her birthday, and my ADHD decided to hit me with a massive low period at the end of August along with a huge onslaught of self-doubt. Throughout the whole period, my only focus was to try and maintain some sort of consistency with the shorts/reels I've been uploading without taking on any "new" content. The other part was just writing more, refining some old tracks, and doing random admin stuff that I'd been putting off. Funnily enough, one of the things I did in that down period was apply to play a show as part of the Melbourne Fringe Festival.. and unexpectedly i was actually invited to play! So this will be my first show as a solo artist without the support of bandmates unlike my Slow Riots days over a decade ago. I've got 3 new tracks that are waiting to be mastered (there's a little preview of one in this video!!) and now I need to seriously start thinking about artwork for them before I plan to roll them out over the November-April period. Part of the live set prep is figuring out some more visual aesthetics which means PAINTING A CARDBOARD BOX so it looks a little more professional. Bit of an abupt ending, I was filming promo content for the live gig at the same time and kind of forgot to do a proper sign off for this vlog, but hopefully I'll have another ep for you all soon likely soon after the show.
