I Found a Rare Oil-Damped Tonearm Turntable at an Audio-Only HARD OFF in Japan

TONO visits a HARD OFF in Niigata, Japan that sells only audio gear: cartridges, high-end turntables, speakers, ALTEC power amps and a junk corner full of rare finds. There he finds a turntable with an oil-damped tonearm, a Victor turntable unit in a handmade cabinet, and an EMPIRE cartridge, for about $370. Back home, a wire snaps while he is setting it up, so his mentor comes over to repair it, swap the stylus and set the tracking force. At the end, a 7-inch single plays through the oil-damped arm and gives a thick, rich analog sound.
