This video examines linguistic repertoires as biographical and mobile collections of resources that develop unevenly through family, education, media, work, mobility, and social experience. It introduces mobile resources, repertoire trajectories, partial competence, truncated repertoires, recontextualization, and changing social value, showing how the same resource may become more useful, less useful, or differently valued when it moves into a new context or encounters a new centre of authority. The central perspective is non-deficit: uneven competence reflects histories of access, use, opportunity, and mobility rather than simple linguistic deficiency.
