Team Romania NTE | FIRST Global Challenge 2026

Every wildfire starts small, but it can devastate entire communities. The fires aren't happening far away. They're happening here, around us. In 2025, Romania was the third worst-hit country in the EU, with 134,370 hectares burned and 8,520 vegetation fires in a single summer. Forests, farmlands, and nearby villages face the same threat. Once the flames appear, the damage has already been done. So we asked one simple question: why wait for a wildfire to start, when we can stop it before it begins? We chose this problem because we've seen it with our own eyes, and no one is stopping these fires before they start. As we speak, France and Spain are burning.
