Transformation and automation where it matters most: in the hospital. In hospital logistics, short delivery times, constant availability and reliable systems are the key to ensuring medical care for an entire region – and to saving lives. To supply and provision the Centre hospitalier universitaire vaudois (CHUV) with medical consumables, as well as to ensure the professional, short-notice availability of sensitive, sterile-held surgical instruments, a smart intralogistics solution is deployed. For PLEXUS-Santé, the Stöcklin Group implemented an automated small-parts warehouse at the off-site facility, a buffer store with a BOXer stacker crane at the CHUV, and conveyor technology at both locations – enabling just-in-time supply all the way to the operating theatre. How does the flow of goods work, the supply of the operating theatre, as well as the sustainable, sterile reprocessing and storage of medical products at the CHUV?
