Caustic Dis/troyer is an artistic and tonal collaboration between Distorted Dream Devices and Ethan Lee McCarthy of Primitive Man, Vermin Womb and Many Blessings. When Ethan reached out, we discussed an early band of his and how he wanted a bit of that tone in his sound. Fortunately, I practiced across the hall from that band in a building that once served as an olympic athletic club boxing gym, so I remembered the tone well. Taking a bit of DNA from an old design of mine he was touring with, we added some amp like distortion and a powerful eq that offers plenty of massive low end, throaty mids and some treble filtering. With 6 gain stages and 2 gain controls, this pedal's intended purpose is to punish your amp and live on the edge of unhinged while still letting all the notes through.It embraces feedback as part of the wall of sound it creates and is best for downtuned baritone and bass guitars Bias aside, this is one of my favorite dirt boxes of all time.
