This was a rare promo Show for their upcoming album, Bloodflowers. They did 6 shows in USA and this one is from Roseland Ballroom, in New York City on February 28, 2000.
This is probably one of my most memorable shows and it holds a special place in my memories. About 1 year before this show I had met my current and future wife, and I told her I would take her on a date to see The Cure. The only problem was I didn't have tickets. That never stopped me before because in 2000 you could still get tickets from someone at the show, or even at the window. So we traveled the 2 hours to NYC that day and get to the venue early. There were no tickets to be found anywhere, but I knew sometimes the venue would release extra tickets just before the show. We lined up in a line at the window and waited. The doors opened and everyone with tickets went in. Then they started to release a few tickets. Two at a time, one at a time, and slowly we got closer to the window. When there was no one else in front of me, they stopped selling them. I waited a few minutes and the lady at the window called for 1 more. I get to the window and she says that they only have 1 more ticket. I told her that I needed 2 tickets and I begged her for 1 more. Finally she caved, sold me 2 tickets, then promptly closed the window. I was the LAST person to get tickets. I turned to my girlfriend, grabbed her hand, and we went inside just as they were closing the doors. We ran to the floor just as, Out Of This World was ending and Watching Me Fall started. I don't know if this is what did it for her, but 3 years later I would marry her and we would follow The Cure together until this day. I wouldn't even consider going to a show without her.
