Documenting the build of my monome Norns Shield. I've wanted to get into the Monome environment for years, but could never justify the fairly exorbitant pricing. The Shield is finally a great entry point into the ecosystem. So I'm super excited to build it and start experimenting with the apps and hopefully create some decent music with it! Monome shield is a DIY version of the Norns - which is a sort of mini music computer, designed to store different musical apps that interact and affect sound differently. It's a beautiful mishmash of different sound tools, and I've loved playing with it for the first few weeks I've had it. *More about me* I'm Andy Dollerson, and I'm an artist, composer, and producer. I write music under my own name, and you can find my music and projects at the usual places below! I co-founded DOsounds - we are a music production house that writes for media, and songwrites, records, mixes and coaches artists in their craft. You can find us here - http://Dosounds.com If you're an artist and want to chat with us about working remotely, please contact us on the website above.
