The fear of man costs more than most people realize.
People pleasing, fear of rejection, fear of judgment, and constantly worrying about what other people think can quietly influence the decisions you make, the opportunities you pursue, and even whether you obey what God has called you to do.
Proverbs 29:25 gives a blunt warning:
“The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.”
In this video, we examine what the Bible says about the fear of man and why seeking the approval of people can become far more expensive than we think.
The fear of man doesn't always look like fear. Sometimes it looks like people pleasing. Sometimes it looks like staying silent when you know you should speak. Sometimes it's avoiding rejection, changing your decisions because of what others might think, or refusing to take action because you're afraid of criticism.
And every one of those decisions has a cost.
We'll look at the biblical difference between fearing man and fearing God, how the desire for approval becomes a snare, why people pleasing can keep us from obedience, and how trusting God frees us to live with conviction rather than being controlled by the opinions of others.
If you've ever wondered how to stop caring so much about what people think, how to overcome people pleasing, how to deal with fear of rejection, or how to stop seeking approval from others, this message is for you.
The goal isn't to stop caring about people.
It's to stop allowing the opinions of people to occupy a place that belongs to God.
