Day 5:- Stories of Hope: Living Beyond Sickle Cell Disease EXPERT:- Ms. Neha Verma Founder/Director, Sickle Care Foundation Ms. Swati Panika Member of National Alliance of Sickle Cell Organisations (NASCO) DAY 5 | Five-Day Online Interactive Series “Addressing Sickle Cell Disease: Healthy Futures, Hopeful Lives” The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) conducted Day 5, the concluding session of its five-day online live interactive series on “Addressing Sickle Cell Disease: Healthy Futures, Hopeful Lives.” The session focused on “Stories of Hope: Living Beyond Sickle Cell Disease,” bringing forward the lived experiences, journeys of resilience, achievements and aspirations of persons and families affected by Sickle Cell Disease. Moving beyond facts and medical narratives, the session highlighted stories that reflect courage, self-empowerment, advocacy and the pursuit of education, careers and meaningful lives. It also emphasised the importance of recognising persons with SCD not merely through the lens of their condition, but as professionals, entrepreneurs, leaders and changemakers who contribute meaningfully to society. As the concluding session of the series, it brings together the larger message of awareness, inclusion, empowerment and hope , reminding us that SCD is a part of a person's journey, not a definition of their potential.
