The EVIL DINOSAURS (Ssi-ruuk) -- Star Wars Alien Species

The Ssi-ruuk were first introduced in The Truce at Bakura by Kathy Tyers, making their debut as one of the most unique alien threats in the Star Wars Expanded Universe. This cold-blooded, reptilian species hailed from the distant Ssi-ruuvi Imperium and sought to expand their dominion through ruthless conquest and their terrifying process of entechment, where they drained the life essence of sentient beings to power their advanced war machines. With their brightly scaled hides, strict caste system, and fanatical devotion to their spiritual beliefs, the Ssi-ruuk presented a chilling and alien menace unlike any seen before in the galaxy. Their invasion of Bakura, shortly after the Battle of Endor, forced the fledgling New Republic and the remnants of the Empire into an uneasy alliance. For Star Wars fans, the Ssi-ruuk remain a fascinating example of the Expanded Universe’s ability to introduce new threats beyond the Empire and deepen the galaxy’s lore.
