Welcome back to The Boobie Breakdown! In Episode 3, we’re talking about one of the hardest parts of a cancer diagnosis: telling the people in your life that you have cancer. How do you even begin to share news that you're still trying to process yourself? We’re Bre + Emily, two triple negative breast cancer survivors who were both diagnosed with Stage 2B breast cancer at different points in our lives. In this episode, we’re sharing what it was like to navigate those emotional conversations with our families, friends, loved ones, coworkers, and clients. We're talking about the different reactions we experienced, the emotional weight of having to share the news over and over again, and how challenging it can be to manage other people's emotions while trying to understand your own. We’re also diving into another reality of being diagnosed with cancer at a young age: fertility preservation. Before treatment even begins, young adults may be faced with overwhelming decisions about their reproductive futures. Breanna shares what the beginning steps of her fertility journeys entailed and what it felt like to make such personal, life changing decisions in the middle of an already overwhelming diagnosis.
