Winter Camping with No Shelter and Minimal Gear, Long Fire on a Cold Night

On this trip I camped overnight beside a huge fallen tree. I didn't bring a tent or a tarp I just camped under the stars. I made my first ever long fire and cooked dinner over the fire. Did I succeed or fail at dinner? The premise behind this trip was to find new areas to camp with the family this winter, but plans often change when I'm in the woods by myself...
