Carbide - Robot Wars 2017 - Safety Check

Before the filming of Series 10 of Robot Wars, each machine had to pass the safety tests in a smaller 'Test Arena' before being admitted into the main competition. Here is Carbide testing their new weapon bar, although it doesn't 100% go to plan. The new weapon bar was 20% heavier than the previous, this meant having to make the shaft from a lighter material. With the materials expanding at different rates from friction while running caused it to seize. It took Team Carbide 7 hours to rework the weapon back to its original Series 9 working condition.
