To navigate and explore DRoP – DRR Portal:
https://drr.nipgr.ac.in/DROP/index.php
Welcome to DRoP (DRR Portal). It is a comprehensive, publicly accessible platform developed to provide centralized information and resources related to Dry Root Rot (DRR), particularly in chickpea, caused by Macrophomina phaseolina.
In this tutorial, we are covering the major sections of the DRoP portal, including resources, datasets, and analytical tools.
Homepage
This page provides an overview of DRR and quick access to the major sections of the portal. The navigation menu includes About, Disease, Pathogen, Management, Tools, Resources, Germplasm, OMICS, Search, Help and Contact sections.
Disease & Pathogen Description
Under the disease section, users can explore detailed information about DRR, including disease symptoms, contributing factors, disease development, and its association with environmental factors such as drought.
The pathogen section provides information about Macrophomina phaseolina, including its characteristics, strains, host information, geographical distribution, and associated genomic resources.
Disease Management
This section provides access to various approaches to managing DRR, including agronomical, biological, chemical, and advanced disease management strategies.
Germplasm Resources
The Germplasm section provides information on chickpea genetic resources evaluated for DRR response, including resistant and susceptible germplasm, passport data, phenotypic traits, and associated molecular markers where available.
OMICS
The OMICS section brings together diverse datasets related to host-pathogen research.
Following this:
🔹 Genomics
🔹 Metagenomics
🔹 Transcriptomics
🔹 Proteomics
🔹 Metabolomics
🔹 Phenomics
The datasets are linked with relevant experimental information, accession numbers (BioProject, BioSample, SRA, and genome assembly records), host and/or pathogen details, and published references to facilitate further research and comparative analysis.
Protocols, Strains, Literature & Datasets
DRoP also provides access to standardized protocols, literature, pathogen strains and other research resources.
GIS-Based Disease Hotspots
This section provides geographical information on DRR occurrence, enabling users to visualize disease hotspots and explore the geographical distribution of disease-associated data.
AI-Powered Tools and Chatbot
DRoP integrates AI/ML tools, including RootRotAI, for image-based disease identification, disease assessment, and decision support, alongside an AI-powered chatbot that enables users to explore Disease, Pathogen, Germplasm, OMICS, Protocols, Literature, Strains, and other DRR resources through natural-language queries.
Help, Contact & Explore DRoP
The Help and Contact sections provide user guides, FAQs, a sitemap, team information, acknowledgements, and project details. DRoP offers researchers, students, plant pathologists, breeders, bioinformaticians, and plant science enthusiasts a centralized platform to explore, analyze, and contribute to DRR research resources.
