JABU PULE: CHAINE IS NOT AT WILLIAMS’ LEVEL YET | MTN8 FINAL

NXL360 previews the MTN8 final with Xola Mlambo. Orlando Pirates vs Mamelodi Sundowns. Saturday, 10 October. 18:00. Moses Mabhida Stadium. Pirates are chasing a fifth straight MTN8 title. Sundowns are looking to lift the trophy for the first time since 2021. We pick our starting line-ups for both teams. Then Jabu Pule weighs in on Sipho Chaine vs Ronwen Williams. After Chaine kept a clean sheet against Egypt, Jabu says Williams is still ahead because he is the modern sweeper — and questions whether Chaine still has enough time to fix his distribution with his feet. And remember what happened at this same stadium three years ago: Chaine saved three penalties as Pirates knocked Sundowns out. We close with the Lucas Ribeiro saga. Reports claimed FIFA ordered Ribeiro to pay Mamelodi Sundowns around R66 million after he walked away from a contract that was supposed to run until 2028. But Sundowns have told Robert Marawa they have received no official communication confirming that decision. Ribeiro is now at Esperance. NEXT ON NXL360: Ramahlwe Mphahlele. Former Mamelodi Sundowns captain. Former Kaizer Chiefs captain. And now the club he grew up wanting to play for is chasing a fifth straight MTN8 title. Raw. Honest.
