My family room is a large, two-story space with 20-foot ceilings, so getting the scale and proportions right has always been a challenge. In today’s video, I’m replacing our undersized lighting with a gorgeous 60-inch Avenir 20-Light Chandelier and adding dramatic 20-foot custom draperies from Three Girls. For the windows, I selected the Lucy Neutral Linen Pinch Pleat Drapes in Natural 1901-4. I wanted something warm and neutral that would soften the room, highlight the height of the ceilings and still allow that beautiful natural light to filter through. These may seem like two relatively simple updates, but the difference they make in this space is HUGE! If you have high ceilings, two-story windows or an open-concept family room, I hope this makeover gives you some inspiration for choosing the right chandelier size, hanging extra-long curtains and using scale to make a large room feel warmer and more finished.
