What do you do when suffering, fear, or uncertainty makes you wonder where God is? In Revelation 1:9–20, the apostle John is suffering in exile on the island of Patmos. The churches he writes to are facing pressure and persecution. Yet in the middle of John's circumstances, God pulls back the curtain—and John sees Jesus. He sees the risen, glorified, reigning Christ standing among His churches. Jesus tells John, "Fear not." He reminds him that He died, that He is alive forevermore, and that He holds the keys of Death and Hades. The message is simple but powerful: When suffering, fear, or cultural pressure tempts us to look elsewhere, look to Christ. In this sermon, we'll explore what John saw, what we should see, and what this vision tells us about the hope we have in Jesus.
