Angola Briefing: The battle for trust ahead of the 2027 elections

Welcome to The Angola Briefing, Zitamar News's weekly discussion of the political, economic and business developments shaping Angola. This week, host Fernando Lima, Zitamar's editor-at-large, was joined by Florindo Chivucute, founder and executive director of Friends of Angola, to examine the challenges facing the country as it approaches the 2027 elections. Their discussion ranged from an unusual moment of parliamentary cooperation over corporate taxation to the government's election-year spending priorities, business reforms, electoral transparency and Angola's changing relationship with Russia.
