Counter-Strike is a game about aim, utility, teamwork, and apparently Bayesian statistics.
In this PowerPoint, I make the completely reasonable argument that Counter-Strike players are constantly using Bayesian reasoning: starting with prior beliefs, gathering incomplete evidence, updating probabilities, and then getting one-tapped by a guy standing on a box.
We’ll talk about Bayes’ theorem, priors, probability, game sense, rotations, fake executes, human bias, and why professional Counter-Strike players are basically very expensive probability engines.
This is the first video on the channel. The plan is simple: PowerPoints about sports, video games, history, science, statistics, philosophy, and whatever other stupidly specific subject I decide deserves a completely unnecessary presentation.
If that sounds like your kind of thing, subscribe.
