Beyond the Line: The Spirit of Mountain Adventure

On November 22, 2024, KAILAS athlete Zhousong and alpinist Zhang Qingwei (Yeren) completed a first ascent on one of China’s most iconic and demanding alpine objectives: the North Face of Siguniang IV (6250m). Over the course of seven days, they established a bold new line on this world-class technical wall—making history as the first Chinese team to forge a route on the North Face. Their line, named “Wu” (Enlightenment), is graded "ED /1400m / VII / AI4 / M6+ / SNOW75°".
