Welcome to Part 4 of our RISC-V Processor Design Series by All About VLSI!

In this session, we continue developing the Load-Store Unit (LSU) of our RISC-V processor, focusing on the load operation and its Verilog implementation.
In the previous sessions, we explored the LSU architecture, byte offsets, misalignment handling, and the store operation. Now, we move forward with the load operation, which allows the processor to retrieve data from memory and make it available for further processing.
Topics covered in this video:
Understanding the load operation in a RISC-V processor.
How the LSU retrieves data from memory.
Developing the load operation logic using Verilog.
Handling byte offsets and selecting the required data from memory.
Integrating the load operation into the LSU design.
Step-by-step RTL coding of the Load-Store Unit.
The Load-Store Unit plays a crucial role in connecting the processor's execution logic with the memory system. Implementing both load and store operations correctly is essential for building a functional processor.
Follow this practical, step-by-step journey as we build our own RISC-V processor from scratch using Verilog.
