BURN IT DOWN? Nebraska football may need to start over after its latest nightmare

In a span of 28 days, this Nebraska football season has progressed from a promising place, with a shot to rank among the darlings of the sport in 2026, into an unmitigated disaster. The Huskers lost 24-13 on Friday night at Illinois. And Nebraska is 5-4 after four consecutive defeats. What’s left for this team? Nebraska again played right into the hands of a Big Ten opponent. Just let the Huskers beat themselves. Eleven penalties. Drive after drive killed by mistakes. Another poor decision on fourth down. And Illinois’ punter running 29 yards on a fake field goal to set up the winning score. No conversation about these Huskers is complete without talking about the precarious position of the head coach. What happens with Matt Rhule? We discuss it all in a late-night reaction episode.
