South Africa Weather for Today & Tomorrow Update Today’s weather across South Africa: A cold front will pass south of the country, leaving the south-western coast cool to mild, while the rest of South Africa enjoys another warm to hot day. Heat-induced, very isolated thunderstorms may develop over the eastern provinces, bringing a chance of brief, intense downpours. The South African Weather Service has issued a Yellow Level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms over south-western Limpopo, where heavy rain, hail, lightning, and damaging winds could cause localised flooding and threaten property and infrastructure. Elsewhere, winds are expected to pick up across the Karoo, and isolated showers or thundershowers may affect some interior regions after a hot afternoon. Fire danger remains extremely high in several areas in the Eastern Cape Province, the northern parts of Limpopo Province, the Free State Province, and parts of the Northern Cape Province. Residents in these regions are urged to exercise caution due to the heightened wildfire risk and to remain alert for possible severe storms, especially in storm-prone eastern areas.
