Housing as Infrastructure for Baton Rouge's Future

Building a stronger tech ecosystem in Baton Rouge takes more than talent and ideas. It also takes places where people can live, work and connect. In this episode of Nexus Downtown, Tony Zanders, president and CEO of Nexus Louisiana, meets with former CEO of BuildEBR, Deidre Deculus Robert at City Roots Coffee in the Electric Depot. At the time of filming, Deidre led Build East Baton Rouge, the parish's redevelopment authority. That work brought together equitable investment, infrastructure, housing and economic development. They discuss: Why housing is infrastructure for a growing workforce How walkable "work, live, play" districts like Electric Depot shape where people choose to build How intentional workforce housing can help Baton Rouge attract and keep the founders, developers and students building what's next for Louisiana
