Aurora over Scarborough North Bay 20261010

10 October 2026 night There were signs of a potentially significant aurora display earlier that day so I put my batteries on charge and rounded up my camera equipment. Then it was a wait until it got dark. Even before it got fully dark reports of visible aurora in the area started to appear. Time to get out! These sequences were taken from Albert Road, mainly as it is easy to park there with views a bit above sea level. I ended up using 3 cameras so there's about 5 hours of aurora packed into under 5 minutes. 0:00 Wide angle view northwards 2:40 Fisheye view covering all north bay 3:44 Zoomed view towards promenade 4:04 Zoomed view NE out to north sea Note you may see occasional flashes across the view. This is lens flare as the location means I sometimes get hit by car headlights out of shot. Any bright spots that don't move with the stars are an imperfection of the cameras used.
