Jayanta Bose speaks about the processes of creating what he calls the visual collage – a combination of visuals and sounds. He explains how each sound comes to him in a certain shape or colour. He moves from sound to visuals and visuals to sound and they do not necessarily complement each other. They are rather independent entities with their own narratives. It is up to the audience to interpret them in their own indivudual ways. The artist and the audience both take part and create the works of art. The sound is a language in itself and this language is not scripted, contained within a rigid structure. The feelings that come out of the association of the images and sounds, for Him, create the real cinema. With his visual collages, he provides a base for the audiences and provokes them to take off with their own journeys to discover the stories within.
