"Do you have a firearms licence?" That question isn't fishing for a crime — for a licensed owner it's fishing for your licence, the moment a friendly follow-up about your safe becomes a case decided by the Registry, not a court. Answer wrong and it ends with your guns seized.
But under Firearms Act s.59 you must produce the licence and the firearm — while under s.19(2)(c) the safe inspection is by arrangement, so police can't raid it unannounced, and refusing to arrange one costs the licence itself, not a fine. The NSW Audit Office counted 2,739 revocations in three years. A card passing through the window. An ammo tin on its own shelf.
In this video: the one sentence that produces what the law demands and narrates nothing it doesn't, the five friendly questions that are really confessions, and what to say when he pushes twice. This is what a proud, careful owner talks himself out of — and what one sentence keeps the night the torch finds the case.
