Making the ZE Sofa | Karimoku Re:issue by Lichen

We spent time with Karimoku in Japan to see how the ZE Sofa comes together, following each step on the factory floor. Originally released in 1982, the ZE caught our attention during an earlier visit to Karimoku. We wanted to bring it back. Working with their team, we made a few adjustments for the home while keeping what drew us to it in the first place. That became Karimoku Re:issue by Lichen. For this film, we left the explaining out. There’s no dialogue or added music, just the sound of the work being done.
