The Hilarious Reason This Comedian Was Accused of Being MAGA | Obsessed: The Podcast

Comedian Heather McMahan joins Kevin Fallon on Obsessed: The Podcast to discuss her new Hulu comedy special, By a Thread, and the bizarre experience of being briefly “canceled” after a controversial moment at the Ryder Cup sparked accusations that she was MAGA. Heather opens up about receiving death threats and disturbing messages, turning the political backlash into comedy, and why she thinks a man would have been treated very differently. Plus, she dishes on her love of The Real Housewives, her over-the-top Italian wedding, the realities of making it as a comedian, her cosmetic surgery, and the unhinged stories fans share on her podcast, Absolutely Not. 00:00 Heather McMahan Explains Her MAGA Backlash 02:00 Why We’re All Hanging by a Thread 04:40 Heather McMahan’s Real Housewives Obsession 06:00 How a Ryder Cup Chant Got Her Canceled 07:25 Why Heather Was Mistaken for MAGA 09:45 Inside Heather’s New Hulu Comedy Special 10:40 Heather McMahan’s Joan Rivers Inspiration 13:00 Heather’s Hilarious Take on the Epstein Files 15:25 Growing Up Between Boston and the South 17:30 Heather’s Over-the-Top Italian Wedding 19:40 Making It as a Comedian and Becoming “New Money” 23:00 Aging, Beauty Trends, and Cosmetic Surgery 27:25 Inside Heather’s Podcast Absolutely Not 31:00 Why Female Comedians Face Different Rules 35:00 The Truth About Heather’s Party-Girl Image 37:00 Turning 40 and Getting Plastic Surgery 42:20 Heather McMahan’s Hulu Special By a Thread #comedian #comedy #hulu #standupcomedy #standup #maga #trump #golf #rydercup #cancelled #realhousewives #politics #politicalnews #news #entertainmentnews #joanrivers 📖 Title: The Hilarious Reason This Comedian Was Accused of Being MAGA 👂 Podcast: Obsessed: The Podcast 📺 Episode: 95 🎧 Format: Full Podcast 📅 Date: October 28, 2026 👨‍💼 Guest: Heather McMahan 🎙️ Host: Kevin Fallon Click here to become an official member of the Daily Beast's Obsessed YouTube community:    / @theobsessedchannel   Have a question or comment for us?
