Brad Pitt: 30 Years Proving He Was More Than a Pretty Face

Brad Pitt left the University of Missouri just weeks before graduating and drove to Los Angeles to become an actor. After odd jobs, commercials, acting classes, and small roles, about fourteen minutes in Thelma & Louise turned him into a Hollywood star almost overnight. But being labeled a heartthrob became the image he spent decades trying to escape. Roles in 12 Monkeys, Fight Club, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, and Moneyball gradually changed how audiences saw him. After three acting nominations without a win, Pitt finally earned the Academy Award for playing stuntman Cliff Booth in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, nearly three decades after his breakthrough. At 61, F1 became the biggest box office hit of his career, and now Heart of the Beast has him playing a Special Forces veteran fighting for survival in Alaska alongside his dog. From sobriety and producing to constantly reinventing himself on screen, Brad Pitt spent more than 30 years proving there was far more behind Hollywood’s most famous face.
