I left the camera facing the path and let the park carry on in front of it. People walked through, runners passed by and bicycles crossed the frame from time to time. Above them, the trees were almost always moving, with sunlight slipping through the leaves and disappearing again a few moments later. Autumn had settled into the park by then. The colours were warmer, leaves were beginning to fall and every stronger gust seemed to send a few more drifting down. The city was never completely far away. A crow would call now and then, sometimes a woodpecker could be heard and every so often a siren reached the park from somewhere beyond the trees. What stayed with me most was how little the scene needed. The wind moved through the branches, people came and went, the light kept changing and the park simply carried on around it all. — Stuttgart, Germany A chapter from Pale Orange Dot.
