Norma is rly fun.
So, donut skips. Go watch Lin-0's video on it if you want to know how it works, but the tldr is: make Pompey face inwards, and keep parrying at 4 stacks.
This presents some issues with this matchup:
1) Hugo chain spins Pompey wildly, and often will make him turn a full 180 degrees. (Lin says it has to do with Pompey's recovery animation)
If that happens, your only hope is that the next chain will spin him back around, or that you can land another heavy before totalize lands to do that manually. If you totalize and he's facing outwards, Pompey will donut and that immediately deducts at least 3k pts from your score.
This is further boosted by Norma's EX turrets counting as entities for that same behavior, meaning the heavy missiles will make Pompey turn to face the turrets (or turn his back to them), and since the spawns is automatic there is nothing you can do to prevent that besides trying to bait Pompey into a corner and praying he stays there to mitigate the issue.
2) Triple chain with this buff is REALLY strong, but you need to keep 4 stacks all the time to guarantee the donut skip. The 2 stun chains and one parry is not enough to keep this going, and this mean you gotta take a compromise somewhere: either you're gonna need to chain oos, sac Hormone by stunning fast to link stacks together, or play at 3 stacks sometimes and accept he might donut at a time where you don't have staggers to prevent it.
When you add those 2 together, there is no consistent way to get the optimal route here, and the skip is 90% RNG, with the only variable under your control being trying to keep Pompey in a corner to mitigate turning issues.
I do believe that in a perfect scenario this team can push close to 60 at M0, but it's simply not feasible due to the above.
Now onto Lighter disc issues. Norma gets KOTS, so what does Lighter run here? Proto is the obvious choice, but the main issue is that the 10s uptime matches the 10s Hormone uptime, and since you cannot start stun at the frame you get a parry (unless you use Lighter ult as soon as the parry connects), this guarantees that the totalize itself won't be Proto buffed.
Proto does have a huge advantage in also buffing Norma while being up for most of the fight, so this might be the actual answer here.
However, Astral is also a viable option, just like on Lycaon Lighter. The idea is that you keep Norma purposefully under the dupe threshold so that you can QA Hugo in right before stun, giving him Astral and then stunning fast to gives him a very substantial buff. This requires extremely precise play and might not be optimal due to only buffing Hugo in a team where Norma deals 1/3 of Hugo's damage.
I want to get more tests in order to determine which one is the better one for Hugo, but it's inhuman to keep Astral while also managing donut skips, so it will have to be done on something else (maybe Horizon?). I'll make sure to make an update with my findings once I do.
