The King Who Celebrated Mawlid 1000 Years Before RasulAllah ﷺ | Proof of Mawlid/Milad un Nabi ﷺ

A remarkable account connected to Tubba‘, the ancient king of Yemen, and his love and anticipation for the coming of RasulAllah ﷺ. According to the historical account discussed in this video, Tubba‘ came to Yathrib — the city that would later become Madinah — long before the birth of RasulAllah ﷺ. The area was described as largely uninhabited, and Tubba‘ travelled with scholars who knew from their previous scriptures that the final Prophet ﷺ would be born in Makkah and migrate to Yathrib. Tubba‘ and the scholars settled there, established homes and prepared the city for the awaited arrival of the final Messenger ﷺ. Tubba‘ also wrote a letter expressing his belief in and love for RasulAllah ﷺ, asking that it be delivered to him if he was not alive to meet him. When the letter eventually reached RasulAllah ﷺ, the account records that he said: “Marḥaban bi-Tubba‘ al-akh aṣ-ṣāliḥ” — “Welcome to Tubba‘, the righteous brother” — three times. There is also the well-known narration: “Do not abuse Tubba‘, for he had indeed believed.” The story raises a beautiful reflection: love, honour and anticipation for RasulAllah ﷺ existed even before his blessed birth.
