In February 1974, 17-year-old Carla Walker was taken from a bowling alley parking lot in Fort Worth, Texas, after a Valentine's dance. Three days later she was found in a culvert near Benbrook Lake. Within weeks, detectives interviewed a truck driver who said his .22 Ruger had been stolen. He passed a polygraph, and nobody came back for 46 years. This is the full story of the Carla Walker case: the night of the dance, the 1974 investigation, a little brother who refused to give up, a stain on a bra strap that no 1974 lab could read, the genetic genealogy breakthrough of July 4, 2020, the arrest, the guilty plea in 2021, and the questions that remain. Every fact in this video comes from court records, police statements and trusted news reporting (sources below). Glen McCurley pleaded guilty in August 2021; his later recantation is presented as his own claim. Subscribe to Docket Noir for new case files every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
