Hi, I’m Dr Becs Bradford. I’m a doctor who followed my gut and moved from the UK to Australia, not fully knowing how things would unfold — just knowing I needed to trust it. This channel is where I share that journey as it happens. The big leaps, the quiet moments, the uncertainty in between… and what it looks like to slowly build a life that feels right on the inside, not just on paper. You’ll find reflections on change, intuition, and courage, alongside everyday life here in Australia — the simple moments, the growth, and everything I’m learning along the way. I’m learning to listen to myself more, and be brave enough to follow it. 14 months ago, I arrived in Australia with no idea exactly where this journey would take me… 🇦🇺 In this video, I’m giving you a proper life update and talking about what’s happening behind the scenes as I approach another big transition. I’ve got just a few weeks left in my current hospital job before I potentially find myself in a strange position — waiting for my AHPRA general registration before I can start my next chapter of work. I also talk about our first appointment at the IVF clinic, what’s coming next, and some of the things I’m thinking about as we move forward. There are also plenty of adventures coming up — including a visit to Black Dingo Cafe, my first solo night away at QT Gold Coast, the Byron Bay open-air cinema, and a Gold Class cinema experience next week. Some of these will become separate videos, so there’s lots more to come! I also ask you what you’d like to see from me next… Would you be interested in seeing my actual Australian doctor payslip and comparing it with what I earned as a doctor in the UK? And would you like me to go back to the beginning and talk about my entire journey — growing up in care, self-studying my GCSEs, getting into medical school at 37, becoming a doctor, moving from the UK to Australia at 43, and the mindset shifts that helped me make those changes? I’m also considering a move from the Gold Coast to Western Australia — potentially Perth — next May, so I talk about why I’m considering that move and what life could look like next. And finally, I chat about locum work, what I’ve learned so far, and some of the things I think doctors should be aware of when considering that route. So… 14 months into my Australian adventure, I’m still figuring it all out. And honestly, I think that’s part of the journey. ❤️ If you’ve been following since the beginning, thank you for being here. And if you’re new, welcome! Let me know in the comments what you’d like me to film next. 🇦🇺 #Australia #LifeInAustralia #DoctorInAustralia #AustraliaVlog #LifeUpdate
