20 Unwritten Rules Every NHL Player Followed in the 1970s

Nobody posted these rules on a locker room wall, but every NHL player in the 1970s knew them by heart, from who could touch a goalie's mask to who had to answer a fight nobody else wanted. This countdown walks through twenty of those unwritten laws with the real nights that proved them: Bernie Parent's stolen mask at the Garden, Clark Gillies squaring off with the Hammer, Robin Herman walking into a dressing room that wasn't built for her, and Paul Mulvey's career ending because he wouldn't go over the boards. You'll hear the box scores, the quotes and the consequences behind each rule, and see how far the game has moved from a code that once decided who played and who got sent home. It's a look back at the hockey that ran on trust, fear and a kind of honor nobody wrote down, for the fans who remember when it did. CHAPTERS 0:00 Intro 0:38 20. The Room Is Ours 1:48 19.
