Real Reason Samoa Joe Left WWE for AEW l WWE Animated series l WWE Documentary

Samoa Joe was released by WWE twice in under a year, but the second release in January 2022 was different. This is the story of why Joe returned to WWE, reclaimed the NXT Championship, and then found himself without the same future after the NXT leadership group he trusted began to change. Using Joe’s own comments, this breakdown looks at his relationships with Triple H and William Regal, the NXT restructuring, Tony Khan’s interest, and the opportunity to return to Ring of Honor. It also explores how ROH Supercard of Honor, AEW Dynamite, and later championship success in AEW and ROH turned a difficult release into a new chapter. Was Samoa Joe’s second WWE release the turning point that led him to a better-fitting future in AEW and ROH? From NXT gold to the AEW World Championship, Joe’s career shows how a release can become a beginning instead of an ending.
