I Rode Singapore Bus 74 Across the Island — Hougang to Buona Vista!

What happens when you ride one of Singapore's longest and most interesting cross island bus journeys from start to finish? Today, we're finding out as we board double-decker Bus Route 74 at Hougang Interchange and travel across Singapore all the way to Buona Vista MRT Station. This isn't just a ride from one terminal to another. Along the way, we'll pass through residential heartlands, busy town centres, leafy roads, schools and education hubs, and eventually the modern surroundings of Buona Vista and One-North. From the front of the upper deck, we'll get a constantly changing view of Singapore as the city unfolds outside the windows. What makes Route 74 especially interesting is that it takes us away from the usual tourist attractions and into the everyday Singapore that most visitors never see. HDB estates, neighbourhood shops, coffee shops, schools, parks, traffic junctions and ordinary commuters become part of the journey. Unlike travelling by MRT, where much of the city disappears underground, a double-decker bus gives us a front row seat to Singapore's streets. Every few minutes, the scenery changes and that's what makes this journey so enjoyable. So, how does the full Route 74 journey look from the upper deck?
