Dr. Kadambini Ganguly

One of the first two women graduates in British India was Kadambini Ganguly. She was not only the first female doctor educated in Western medicine in the Indian subcontinent but also the entire South Asia. Born on July 18, 1861, the same year as Rabindranath Tagore, her life is an extraordinary tale of relentless struggle. From Hindu Mahila Vidyalaya to Bethune College, then to Calcutta University, Medical College, and eventually London, her journey was far from easy. Kadambini married her headmaster, Dwarkanath Ganguly, which stirred significant controversy, even within the Brahmo Samaj. Today, let’s remember the history of this remarkable woman’s lifelong fight against society and institutions, a true inspiration for Bengalis. 🙏🏻😊    / @anirban_das   For Official Communication: hello@bengalechoes.com 📧 Official Website : https://www.bengalechoes.com/ For educational purposes, you may visit : YouTube Channel:    / @onyopath   Facebook page:   / onyopath   Follow me on Facebook, Instagram & Twitter :   / thebengalexplorer     / anirbanim     / anirbandas92   👩‍❤️‍👨Our Lifestyle Vlogging Channel: ‪@Leziusvlog‬ ⭐️ #kadambini #bengali #legend #bangla #history #biography
