You’re still here…
Even after the silence she left behind.
Lyara Ashveil didn’t expect to find anyone there.
The house felt abandoned at first.
Quiet.
Still.
A temporary refuge from the approaching daylight.
But some places remember the things that live inside them.
And some creatures learn how to hide too well.
He was already there.
Not human.
Not unfamiliar.
Another immortal presence moving through rooms that no longer belonged to time.
At first…
there was comfort in it.
No explanations.
No fear.
No need to pretend.
Just two beings shaped by the same endless night.
But something beneath him felt wrong.
Not hunger.
Something lonelier.
He spoke of eternity like a wound that never closed.
Of attachment as weakness.
Of rules meant to be broken once enough years had passed.
And slowly—
the house stopped feeling safe.
The silence changed.
The distance between rooms grew smaller.
His attention lingered too long.
Lyara left before the night could become something worse.
But now…
every shadow feels delayed behind her.
Every empty street feels watched.
And somewhere in the dark—
she knows he remembers her name.

📜 𝐋𝐲𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐬 📜
I thought the house was empty…
The windows carried dust and age
thin curtains breathing with the night
A borrowed refuge from the rain
somewhere the daylight couldn’t find
The rooms felt strangely untouched still
like someone moved through them with care
A quiet order left behind
small traces hidden everywhere
And then…
I heard another step upstairs
He looked at me like recognition
not surprise, not fear, not doubt
As if my presence in that silence
was something he had waited for
No questions first
just stillness shared
two empty hearts inside one room
A strange relief I almost trusted
because he felt… familiar too
Another thing like me…
He spoke of nights like passing weather
of cities emptied by the years
Of names forgotten, faces fading
until attachment disappeared
But underneath his careful calm
something restless moved unseen
A colder hunger hiding deeper
than anything I’d tried to be
He laughed at rules I still protected
called restraint a temporary chain
Said loneliness becomes unbearable
when eternity remains
Something felt wrong…
The house grew smaller every night
his voice stayed longer in the dark
Questions turning into pressure
silence tightening around my thoughts
He watched me more than he should have
like something fragile meant to stay
Not love…
not even kindness…
just fear of being left again
And when I finally chose to leave
the night itself felt strangely altered
Every street too quiet behind me
every shadow slightly closer
Now every doorway feels aware
every silence shifts too near
I feel another presence moving
just beyond the edge of hearing
Maybe he follows out of hatred
maybe hunger, maybe grief
Or maybe immortality itself
cannot survive being left in peace
And somewhere in the dark behind me
I still feel his eyes remain
Like the house still knows my footsteps
like it remembers my name
I should have left sooner…
…he’s still there…
